Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. It plays a paramount role in the modern technological world. It brings a feeling of equality among all people in the society and promotes growth and development of the country. Here in Guru TegBahadur Public School, we provide education for all under the same roof, as inclusion is a right, not a privilege for a select few; within a few years, this inclusive education will become embedded in our culture too. It is about embracing all, making a commitment to do whatever it takes to provide each student in the community, and each citizen in a democracy, an inalienable right to belong, not be excluded. It also requires the teacher to believe that all students have something important to offer in the classroom and that they really are better off learning together. When inclusive education is fully embraced, we abandon the idea that children have to become ‘normal’ in order to contribute to the world. We begin to look beyond typical ways of becoming valued members of the community, and in doing so, begin to realize the achievable goal of providing all children with an authentic sense of belonging. The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled. So, we all should develop a passion for learning because if we do, we will never cease to grow.
