Epoch Making Achievement

The day 3rd March 2019 is truly historic for Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, Durgapur. It is the day when the name of the school was internationally observed. And it’s all for our student Tapabrata Das from class XI.
The Kolkata International Photography Festival was conducted for the first time. It was an International competition in search of the young talents in the Photography World for the entry ‘Untitled 1’. The best photographs in print format comprehending innovative and creative thoughts were displayed at the Victoria Memorial from 28 February to 06 March. 30 photographs were selected for display in digital format at Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Indian Museum Kolkata Gallery, Emami Kolkata Centre for Creativity, Nandan + Calcutta Information Centre and Maya Art Space, Kolkata.
Our student Tapabrata Das from class XI participated in this competition representing Guru Teg Bahadur Public School and the city Durgapur. He competed the participants from different schools of Kolkata, West Bengal, Bangladesh, Kashmir, Odisha and other countries as well. Tapabrata achieved the ‘Best Talent Award’ in this International Photography Competition among other competitors. His photograph was displayed at the Victoria Memorial from 28 February to 06 March. In an interview conducted by the KIPF team he said, “I feel good that my photograph is being displayed in the historic Victoria Memorial and my photograph has been selected as one of the best photographs internationally among other photographs. More than this, I feel blessed that I am representing my school and my city, Durgapur.” He also praised the other young photographers for their creation. He further asserted, “I wish that every young photographer should be provided such a platform that they can come forward and exhibit their talent as well.” He wholeheartedly thanked KIPF team for providing such a glorious platform for the students. He also thanked his school for encouraging him to move forward for this contest. It was an appealing moment for Tapabrata when visitors from foreign lands praised the photograph of Tapabrata and appreciated him for his exceptional creation. A gentleman from Italy loved the creative deed of his. He greeted him with a handshake for his accomplishment internationally. The day was concluded with the most awaited moment for Tapabrata. He was felicitated with the Certificate of Excellence and a memento at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Kolkata.
The Principal of Guru Teg Bahadur Public School, Mrs Sutapa Acharya blessed and admired him for this historic achievement. The School feels proud for the devoted deed of our student.
